With the backing of executives from DTE Energy, Consumers Energy, Whirlpool, Herman Miller Furniture, and Dow, the LGBTQ movement in Michigan has started a ballot initiative that seeks to change the Elliott Larsen Civil Rights Act by changing the legal definition of a person’s sex to include “gender, sexual orientation, and gender identity or expression.”  
 
When this type of wording is put into nondiscrimination policies it silences or punishes those who do not affirm and support LGBTQ goals.
 
Goal number 1: The normalization of homosexual behavior and gay marriage achieved by: 
  1. Silencing and punishing those who do not support or who will not participate in gay marriages; 
  2. Having school curriculum promote homosexuality as a healthy alternative to heterosexuality; 
  3. Silencing any biblical reference to homosexual behavior as sin or immoral behavior;
  4. Forcing organizations whose foundational beliefs define homosexual behavior as immoral to hire homosexuals and provide services that affirm homosexuality.
  5. Keeping from the public the clinic evidence that shows homosexuality to often be a disorder of arrested psychosexual development;
  6. Blaming the higher health risks associated with homosexuality on societal disapproval rather than the underlying disorder; and 
  7. Denying access to treatment for those with unwanted homosexual attractions and for the children of parents who prefer their child to identify heterosexual.
  Goal number 2: The normalization of transgender identities and expressions achieved by: 
  1. Silencing and punishing those who do not support transgender identities as a normal alternative to identifying as either a biological male or a biological female; 
  2. Denying public same-sex privacy by giving transgender identified individuals and individuals who want to express opposite gender expressions the right to use restrooms and locker rooms that do not correspond to their biological gender; 
  3. Creating unfair athletic competition by giving transgender identified individuals and individuals who want to express opposite gender expressions the right to participate in sports and events that do not correspond with their biological gender; 
  4. Taking away the right of employers to require dress codes appropriate to biological gender;
  5. Keeping from the public the clinical evidence on gender identity disorder/gender dysphoria that shows it as a disorder; and
  6. Denying parents and children access to treatment with the goal of helping a child identify with its biological gender.

            Please do not sign this ballot initiative.
             If it gets on the ballot - Vote NO

Guard Our Children is registered as a Michigan Super PAC. Donations are not tax deductible. Until it is defeated, all funds donated in 2020 will go to fight against the LGBTQ initiative to add "sexual orientation, and gender identity and expression" to Michigan's civil rights act.
